About SaskCatan

No Events Here. So I Started One.

I thought maybe 16 people would show up. Over 50 signed up. Now we’re gearing up for Saskatoon’s first CATAN qualifier — and this community keeps growing.
SaskCatan started small. But it’s turning into something big: a real place to play, connect, and compete.

How It All Actually Started

I started SaskCatan with a simple plan: run one small tournament — maybe 20 people, tops. Just a chance for local fans to come together and play.

We put the word out… and it snowballed. We hit 50 signups before I could even blink. Then came support from local game stores. Then backing from Catan itself. At that point, it was clear — this wasn’t just a one-off night. It was a community in the making.

We didn’t expect it to grow this fast. But now that it has, we’re leaning in and building something that lasts.

Why We Exist. Where We’re Going.

Our mission is to grow Saskatchewan’s CATAN community through inclusive play, strategic events, and support for local game spaces. From casual nights to national qualifiers — we play with heart.

Future Goals

  • Host multiple qualifiers per year

  • Launch online play leagues and hybrid tournaments

  • Collaborate with more local game cafés and retailers

  • Develop resources for new players and community organizers

  • Create a volunteer and ambassador program (for scalability and engagement)
