About SaskCatan
We are Saskatchewan’s home for trading sheep, rolling dice, and building community.
From a Small Meetup to a Provincial Movement
What started as a quiet idea quickly evolved into the largest Saskatoon board game community. In early 2025, founder Tyrel Wilgosh attended a modest, 14-person Catan tournament. Struck by the competitive energy and instant camaraderie at the tables, he realized Saskatoon needed a dedicated space for tabletop strategists.
On February 13, 2025, the official Saskcatan Facebook page was launched, testing the waters for local interest. The response was overwhelming. The very first tournament drew 47 passionate players, instantly proving a massive local demand for organized, competitive play. Today, Saskcatan stands as the premier hub for both casual traders and fierce competitors in the province.
