Welcome to SaskCatan. By accessing saskcatan.ca, registering for our events, or attending a SaskCatan meetup in person, you agree to abide by the following Terms of Service. These terms exist to ensure a fair, safe, and welcoming environment for all tabletop players in Saskatchewan.
1. Eligibility & Age Restrictions SaskCatan hosts different types of events designed for different audiences:
- Casual Game Nights: Open to players of all ages. (Note: If a casual event is hosted at a venue with its own age restrictions, such as a 19+ brewery, the venue’s rules supersede ours).
- National Qualifiers (Tournaments): Competitive tournaments are strictly limited to players who are 18 years of age or older by the date of the CATAN Canada National Championships (typically held in July).
2. Ticketing, Cancellations & Refund Policy We understand that plans change, but as an event organizer, we must finalize venue capacity and prize support in advance.
- Refund Window: Tournament tickets are fully refundable up until 31 days prior to the date of the event. All refunds must be processed through the Best Coast Pairings (BCP) system.
- Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Cancellations made within 30 days of the tournament, or players who fail to show up on the day of the event, will not receive a refund.
3. Code of Conduct & Right of Refusal SaskCatan is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive experience for everyone.
- Players are expected to treat opponents, venue staff, and tournament organizers with respect.
- Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance policy for cheating, collusion, verbal abuse, harassment, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
- Right to Ban: SaskCatan reserves the absolute right to disqualify, remove, or permanently ban any individual from our events and digital communities if they violate this Code of Conduct, without a refund.
4. Media & Photography Release We love documenting our growing community. By attending any official SaskCatan event, you consent to being photographed, filmed, and/or recorded. You grant SaskCatan full rights to use these images and recordings for promotional purposes, including website content, social media posts, and advertising, without compensation.
5. Limitation of Liability SaskCatan events are hosted at third-party venues (e.g., cafes, breweries, game stores). By attending, you agree that SaskCatan and its organizers are not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or lost/stolen items that occur during an event.
